    The Jasper County Historical Museum was dedicated May 6, 1979. It is the result of the generosity and desire of many Jasper County residents who wanted to preserve the history of the area for future generations. The museum contains many interesting exhibits utilizing over 8,000 artifacts that have been donated to the society over the years.

    MUSEUM HOURS DAILY 1-5 PM - Our final tour begins at 4 PM sharp
    Open: May 1 to September 30. Starting October 3rd, 2016 the museum will be open from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM for self guided tours. ADMISSION: Adults: $5.00 Students: $2.00 Under 5 years: free.

    Starting October 3rd, 2016 from 10:00 to 2:00 PM you can get some exercise by walking the hour long Museum Mile, which is 8 laps in the main building. Free will donations will be accepted. Enter through the north door.

    The Jasper County Historical Museum's Research Library is located at the Jasper County Museum. The library is free and is open to the general public. Photocopies can be made of non-copy write materials for 10ยข a copy. Research services are also available at a cost of $12.50 per hour plus the cost of copies (1 to 2 surnames per request). A $12.50 check and a stamped self-addressed envelope (S.A.S.E.) should accompany each request.
