This year marks 75 years of diplomatic relations between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the United States (U.S.). Join The Partnership for a virtual event presented by the Ambassador of Saudi Arabia to the U.S., Princess Reema bint Bandar bin Sultan bin Adbulaziz Al Saud. Her Royal Highness will convey that Saudi Arabia?s bold leadership through G20, OPEC and as a global leader has aggressively addressed the worldwide pandemic, oil stabilization efforts and ceasefire in Yemen. She will also highlight the Kingdom?s economic and social reforms that are creating opportunities for investment partnerships with American entities, including diverse sectors like tourism, green energy and technology. Topic: How Teachers and Parents Can Maximize the K-12 Learning Experience During a Pandemic Presenter: Dr. Yen Verhoeven, Founder of QI Learning Research Group Dr. Verhoeven is a learning theorist, STEM educator, and certified in online instructional design and program evaluation. Since 2018, Qi Learning has taught over 6,800 teachers in the U.S. and around the world using their instructional methodologies for STEM, 21st century skills, and distance learning. Since the pandemic, Qi Learning has moved toward supporting elementary teachers with courses geared toward effective distance learning practices and instruction. The Make It OK campaign in Iowa, led by the Healthiest State Initiative is hosting a six-week virtual mental health series, in tandem with the Greater Des Moines Partnership and Capital Crossroads, titled “6 Weeks of Make It OK.” Join us for a panel discussion on what back to school means during COVID-19. You’ll hear from a college student, a parent, a medical professional and a Des Moines Public School (DMPS) staff member on what the new school schedule and these different kinds of learning might mean for your mental health and for children and teachers. We’ll have 45 minutes of discussion and 15 minutes for open Q&A. This session is free to attend. Special thanks to Al Exito for their support of this series.
