Event Description:
Elevate is a quarterly program of the West Des Moines Chamber, celebrating the power of women. Its intent is to influence closing the leadership and wage gaps by helping to add more women to positions of prominence in business and community.
A few facts about women business ownership:
*Women now make up 36% of small-business owners, up from just 4.6% in 1972.
*Four out of every 10 businesses (40%) in the United States are now owned by women.
*In 2017, women of color accounted for 71% of the new female-owned businesses launched in the United States.
At this meaningful event we will uncover programs to help women business owners and entrepreneurs and also learn from the pros to help gain greater insight and motivation for our women owned businesses in 2021.
This year we are proud to announce that world renowned speaker - Liz Nead of Nead Inspiration - will be our moderator for Elevate events in 2021. Liz Nead is an adventure speaker, traveling the world and taking on challenges to find lessons of leadership, communication diversity and inclusion.
