"Winter's Wonders" Snowshoe Hike
Winter is a great time to get outside! Join Ranger Tracy Spry on a quest for winter wildlife and the signs they leave behind. If there is enough snow, we’ll strap on some snowshoes for the adventure! Search for animal tracks, insect galls and other clues. After the walk, meet back at the shelter for a hot cup of cocoa by the fireplace. Snowshoes will be available to borrow at the program, but if you have your own pair, please bring them along (limited number of adult-size snowshoes available). The walk will last about an hour.
Note: If there is less than a four inch base of snow, the winter walks will take place without using the snowshoes. If inclement weather is a factor, the activity may be postponed/cancelled - please contact the Corps of Engineers at 641-828-7522 or 641-628-8690 for more information.
Programs are free of charge and no reservations are needed. Call Park Ranger Tracy Spry at (641) 828-7522 or (641) 628-8690 for more information.
