Name: Volunteer Work Day at Lake Red Rock (National Public Lands Day)
Date: September 29, 2012
Time: 8:00 AM - 12:00 PM CDT
Event Description:

Volunteer at Lake Red Rock to celebrate National Public Lands Day! The Corps of Engineers is looking for volunteers to help pick up litter along the shoreline and stain picnic tables in the campgrounds. Activities will take place from 8:00 a.m. until noon.  Your help will keep the parks looking great for the future.

This year’s NPLD events are focused on supporting our public lands, spending time outdoors, and being more active. Lake Red Rock, Iowa’s Largest Lake, provides the perfect place to get outside into nature.  After the event, take a hike on one of the lake’s nature trails, try your luck searching for geocaches, pitch a tent for a fall season campout, or enjoy some of the many other outdoor adventures!
