Website: More Details
Event Description:
A study released in January 2020 by the University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine found Iowa is short 361 physicians across eight different specialties.

According to the Iowa Board of Nursing as of 2019 there were 47,812 Registered Nurses in Iowa.  Forty two percent of them are fifty and older and twenty two percent (22%) of Iowa nurses are eligible to retire now. In addition to nursing workforce there is a shortage of nursing instructors. Nursing faculty members in the state total 1010 with thirty seven percent (37%) of them over 50.

Retirement of significant number of healthcare workers, declining native population, significant growth in the foreign-born and other diverse demographics, increased interest and need in building culturally and linguistically appropriate healthcare and aging populations all make ‘Rebuilding the Healthcare Workforce’ a topic of great interest and urgency.

Please join us for this important conversation with a panel of experts to discuss these issues and possible solutions.
