The Top Five series features experts in human resources, marketing, accounting, IT and more. Presenters will introduce five key points on specific topics that help small business owners be successful. Each event will take place virtually from 9 – 10 a.m.
Session Overview:
This session will explore the difference between contractors and employees, learn about labor shortage resources and evaluate the cost analysis breakdown of hiring vs contracting.
Speakers:
Lori Gelhaar and Melanie Lane have both served on Executive Boards for the Urbandale Chamber and the Downtown Chamber. Lori was the Chair of the Urbandale Chamber Board in 2017 and Melanie Lane was the Vice Chair for Downtown Chamber in 2021. Both Melanie and Lori have been strong advocates of the Greater Des Moines Partnership and chamber affiliates for over 20 years.
Together, Lori and Melanie founded a women owned small business, launching the first Fractional Services Provider Firm in Des Moines. They believe in educating companies on options available to them when it comes to getting the help they need for their businesses.
