The Top Five series features experts in human resources, marketing, accounting, IT and more. Presenters will introduce five key points on specific topics that help small business owners be successful. Each event will take place virtually from 9 – 10 a.m.
Session Overview:
This session will provide information covering individual and business tax items, since most businesses today are set up and operated in pass-through entities.
Speakers:
With over 35 years of experience, Rod Foster provides a wide range of assurance and advisory services to clients primarily based in the Midwest, mostly related to general business planning, project management and client defined agreed upon procedures. Rod also serves as office managing partner (OMP) for the Des Moines and Mason City RSM US LLP offices, is market leader (ML) for the Omaha, Lincoln and Kansas City offices and is a member of the Firm’s eight-state Central Region management team.
Active in the community, Rod has been involved with the Greater Des Moines Leadership Institute, the Greater Des Moines Partnership and the Greater Des Moines Committee. He is currently a board member of Junior Achievement of Central Iowa. He has also twice served as chairman of the University of Northern Iowa Accounting Advisory Council and continues to serve as a member of the Council. He is also a member of the Drake University School of Accounting Advisory Council.
Blake Zacharias joined RSM US LLP in 2015 and has experience in working with many different industries, with a concentration in serving middle market businesses in the Construction industry. Blake is a native of Conrad, Iowa and a graduate from the University of Iowa. Blake advises clients in corporate and personal taxation, tax planning, entity selection, organizational structure, and general business advisory services.
