Event Description:
Patty Rowland’s presentation will focus on the evolution of ironing devices through-out history-- from the use of Chinese pan irons in the first century B.C. to ~1000 A.D. and the use of slickenstones by the Vikings to the Scandinavian mangle boards in the 1500’s, followed by more “modern” irons that your grandmother may have used. A display of and discussion about many of the irons in her collection will follow the presentation.
