Event Description:
With Sate awarding $45M in contracts to Targeted Small Businesses and looking to hire more it’s important to learn the details and get registered. This certificate allows you to work with the state and as you learned in the September 2 session it is also extremely important for securing large company contracts.

- Utilizing the portal for state bidding,
- Targeted Small Business Loan Program
- All the other add benefits that come with being a TSB.
- You will also be able to register to become a TSB onsite.

Documents for All Applicants:
TSB Authorization TSB Verification Of Disability
- If you are a Sole Proprietor – please bring verification of your Trade Name Registration with your local county recorder
- Proof of TGP status (See list of acceptable documentation)
- Two years of business tax returns or individual tax returns and IRS letter verifying your businesses’ Federal ID number if you do not have business tax returns
- Proof of liability insurance if you are selling physical products, software, food and/or are providing construction/landscaping services
- Workers Compensation insurance, if applicable
- Copy of each and every license, registration, and permit required by the state of Iowa for business (i.e., contractor’s license, DOT licenses if you are involved in the transportation industry, Department of Inspections and Appeals licenses if you provide food, etc.)
- Purchase agreement, if the business was acquired within the last five years
- Signed and notarized application (see attached.)
- Operating Agreement, if more than one Member/Manager (This documents indicates how many members/managers there are in the business and their percentage of ownership, which helps to verify the business is not just 51% or more owned by a Targeted Group Person, but also actively managed by the Targeted Group Person.)
- Any amendments made to original Operating Agreement if more than one Member/Manager
- If any members/managers of the LLC are not Targeted Group Persons, please provide documentation of prior month’s payroll and indicate their title/role on the application.
Additional Documents for Corporation Applicants
- Bylaws (this is not the same as the Articles of Incorporation filed with the Secretary of State. This is a separate document that indicates how many Directors there are in the corporation and their voting rights. All corporations are required by the State of Iowa law to have Bylaws.)
- Meeting Minutes reflecting election of current Directors/Officers (This document indicates to us who holds what roles in the business, and verifies the business is not just 51% owned by a Targeted Group Person, but also actively managed by the Targeted Group Persons)
- If any members/managers of the LLC are not Targeted Group Persons, please provide documentation of prior month’s payroll and indicate their title/role on the application.
- Proof of TGP status for Board of Directors/Officers. See list of acceptable proof below.
Additional Documents for Partnership Applicants
- Partnership Agreement (This documents indicates how many members/managers there are in the business and their percentage of ownership, which helps to verify the business is not just 51% or more owned by a Targeted Group Person, but also actively managed by the Targeted Group Person.)
- Any amendments made to original Partnership Agreement if more than one Member/Manager
- If any members/managers of the Partnership are not Targeted Group Persons, please provide documentation of prior month’s payroll and indicate their title/role on the application
