Event Description:
On June 25-26, Lake Red Rock will host a Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) Professional Development Opportunity for K-8 educators featuring the "Engineering is Elementary" curriculum series. The course will be offered in partnership with Central College's Department of Education and the 3M Visiting Wizards. Acoustical engineering will be the topic highlighted during the workshop. The class will be held from 9:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. each day and will include indoor and outdoor classroom activities. Additional tasks may also be required outside of class hours. Teachers interested in attending the workshop would be eligible to earn continuing education credit through Heartland AEA. If you have interest in attending this workshop or would like additional information as more details become available, please contact the Corps of Engineers office at (641) 828-7522 or via email at lakeredrock@usace.army.mil. There is a possibility teachers could apply for support for curricular materials through a STEM grant.
