Event Description:
The public is invited to attend a ceremony to dedicate new headstones for three Pella Civil War soldiers in previously unmarked graves. This will be led by the 49th Iowa Infantry Regiment of the Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War, attired in Civil War Uniforms. Soldiers honored are Private Daniel Dingeman, 33rd Iowa Infantry Regiment; Second Lieutenant Thomas Forsythe, 40th Iowa Infantry Regiment; and Private Dirk Rhynsburger, 15th Iowa Infantry Regiment. The ceremony will begin at 1 pm at Oakwood Cemetery.
