Melissa Gesing worked full time on her first campaign – Elizabeth Dole for President – at age 20 and became passionate about elevating the role of women in politics. She will talk about her authentic – and sometimes winding, bumpy, and unknown – leadership path that has brought her to leading 50-50 in 2020, a 501(c)(3) non-profit, non-partisan issue neutral organization dedicated to achieving political equity for women in Iowa. She will address the challenges women face on the campaign trail and how we can overcome those challenges to lead authentically in the political and professional arenas.
