Event Description:
Steven Brockshus, CEO of Terva joins us for November Startup Stories
Steven Brockshus, CEO of Terva, will be the guest speaker at the November Square One DSM Startup Stories event. Startup Stories is a monthly networking event geared toward entrepreneurs, investors and those interested in entrepreneurship that features an interview-style presentation with Square One DSM Executive Director Mike Colwell. The November event is scheduled for Wednesday, Nov.15 at the Greater Des Moines Partnership, 700 Locust St.
Terva is a web-based marketplace for buying, selling and renting farmland. With just a couple of clicks, landowners can search a nationwide database of farmland listings, auctions and sale results. Terva is on a mission to bring transparency to the agricultural industry by making the world's farmland information accessible, starting with rural Iowa. Brockshus grew up on a fifth-generation family dairy farm in northwest Iowa. He founded Terva in 2016. A 2017 graduate of Iowa State University, Brockshus took a year off of college to serve as the National FFA Vice President, meeting with students, farmers and ag leaders across the country.
Brockshus will talk about his journey and lessons learned as an entrepreneur. Colwell will begin the presentation by interviewing Brockshus, and then take questions from the audience.
