Name: MOXIE Business Owner Roundtable
Date: August 3, 2022
Time: 8:00 AM - 10:00 AM CDT
Event Description:
MOXIE (Member Owners eXchange Information & Experience) is a group of member business Owners/Presidents who meet monthly with Greg Thompson, ActionCoach, to discuss issues impacting their businesses. All member Business Owners/Presidents are invited to participate.  Everyone must sign a confidentiality clause.

This month we have invited the Executive Director, Noelle Nelson, of Avenue of Scholars Des Moines to speak about this new program in the metro to bridge the gap between education and business for students of hope and need.

Beginning with the 2022 – 2023 school year Avenue Scholars will begin providing this comprehensive program in central Iowa starting in the Des Moines Public Schools at East and Roosevelt High Schools with a plan to expand to all Des Moines high schools by 2024.

Avenue Scholars provides comprehensive, individualized support services to help students identify, prepare for, and ultimately enter financially sustaining, high-demand careers requiring an associate degree or less. Programming begins in the student’s junior year of high school and continues uninterrupted through postsecondary training and for six months following career entry. Eligibility is based on financial need (eligibility for free or reduced-price school lunches or a federal Pell Grant), interest in pursuing a high-demand career requiring an associate degree or less, and attendance at an AS partner high school.
