Advances in technology are transforming the public transit industry across the nation and world. In just the last two years, DART has added Wi-Fi to all of its buses, introduced a mobile ticketing app, installed new fareboxes and launched an on-demand pilot in partnership with Uber and YellowCab. In the next year, DART will introduce electric buses into its fleet and play an integral role in evaluating whether or not to bring e-scooters to #DSMUSA. So what’s next?
Amanda Wanke, Chief of External Affairs at DART
Amanda Wanke is the Chief External Affairs Officer of the Des Moines Area Regional Transit Authority, better known as DART. Amanda oversees the marketing and communications, customer service, business and community partnerships and planning departments for the largest transit system in the state of Iowa. Since joining DART in 2015, Amanda has led various initiatives to increase revenue, increase awareness and improve access to public transit throughout central Iowa.
Kevin Foley, Executive Director at the Des Moines International Airport
Kevin Foley joined the Des Moines International Airport team in June, 2008, as its Properties Administrator, transitioning to Deputy Aviation Director in January 2009, and then to the Assistant Executive Director position in 2011. He accepted the position of Executive Director in February of 2014. Prior to joining the Airport, Mr. Foley served as an Associate Professor of Aviation for the University of Dubuque. His professional experience also includes several key management roles with Dubuque Regional Airport, 1992 – 2000, and a stint as a corporate pilot. Kevin possesses a Master of Business Administration degree as well as a Bachelor of Science degree in Aviation Management. He is a certified flight instructor and a multi-engine commercial pilot.
