Event Description:

Join the Grimes, Johnston, and Urbandale Chamber as we come together for networking, coaching, and mentoring sessions from the region's most influential business leaders. This event will allow you to try out what a mentoring relationship might be like and gain insightful advice from regional leaders. These events are designed for women to find inspiration and guidance on their careers. All events are open to anyone in the Greater Des Moines (DSM) community who would like to network and further their professional development.

Erin Huiatt, Owner of Des Moines Parent

Erin Huiatt is a wife, mother, business owner, and community builder. She is a stepping-stone for thousands of families throughout the Midwest through her business Des Moines Parent. Erin is passionate about uplifting and supporting women in Des Moines and is currently the President of FemCity Des Moines. She loves to share her experiences and thoughts along the way to help others get through any given day. Paula Bierle, Owner of Purple Poppy Boutique
Paula is a longtime resident of Johnston with her husband, Todd. Their two adult children graduated from Johnston High School and reside in the surrounding suburbs.  Paula grew up in the Des Moines area and graduated from Hoover High School.  She attended the University of Northern Iowa where she earned her BA in Fashion Merchandising and Business.  After many years in the Corporate setting, Paula decided to follow her dream of opening her own Boutique in the community that she loves!   Paula enjoys shopping, long walks, spending time with family and friends as well as helping the women of Johnston look and feel their best.
Sharon Vickery, Small Business Owner and Financial Advisor with Edward Jones
Sharon is a small business owner and Financial Advisor with Edward Jones working with individuals, families, and small businesses helping them achieve what's most important to them, to live better, more fulfilling lives. Prior to joining Edward Jones, Sharon spent more than 25 years consulting small businesses to Fortune 100 companies in the areas of brand and loyalty marketing/publishing, technology, and leadership development. When she's not working with the Edward Jones team assisting clients nationwide, Sharon has enjoyed serving the community as Ambassador and Board Director of the Johnston Chamber of Commerce, past President and Board Director of The Rotary Club of Des Moines, past Board Director of the American Heart Association, past Board Director of the YWCA, past Chair and Board Director of the American Cancer Association, past Board Director of Downtown Des Moines Inc, and fundraiser for The Science Center of Iowa, The Variety Club of Iowa and several other non-profit organizations. In her free time, Sharon enjoys traveling with her husband Stephen, photography, and spending time with friends and family - especially her son Samuel in Seattle and daughter Ksenia in St. Paul. 
Andi Fagen, Founder of Creative DSM Digital & Social Marketing
Meet Andi Fagen, founder of 
Creative DSM Digital & Social Marketing. Her background includes graduating from Iowa State University, developing digital marketing plans for startups in Los Angeles, and a Creative Director position at a consumer technology company in Miami that resulted in a nine-figure acquisition in 2018. Andi's goal is to leverage creative marketing strategies to educate the community about the impact of optimized search engine content, email marketing, and social media management.  

 
Melissa Merrifield, Golden Rule Plumbing, Heating, and Cooling
My vision is to apply excellent leadership, communication, networking, and marketing talents in professional marketing settings. To demonstrate an entrepreneurial spirit and execute creative ideas in a growing environment, becoming a strong leader in the marketing community and development of modern-day business and technology. Over twenty years of hands-on marketing management experience; versatile, results-oriented marketing professional, who knows how to manage a company's reputation as an asset. Designed all aspects of marketing pieces including branding, graphic design, and content, utilizing various forms of media. Project Management: proven record for successfully managing multiple projects from inception to completion. Volunteering, gala, fundraising and just rolling up my sleeves to help is one of my passions. St, Jude Hero, I have served on many gala boards MDA, Big Brother Big Sister, Boys & Girls Club, Hope Ministries to name a few.

Tricia Rivas, Owner of Trixies Salon & Spa
Tricia is a native Des Moines' Southsider. She attended 
La James International College. Tricia is affiliated with Aveda and has completed many hours of Aveda training. She has been a freelance makeup artist for MAC Cosmetics, Aveda, as well as a makeup educator for Toni & Guy Cosmetic Art Team. Tricia has also fulfilled her lifelong dream of doing makeup at Mercedes New York Fashion Week. At Trixies she specializes in customized hair color, perms, and relaxers. She also enjoys haircutting, manicures, and pedicures.

When Tricia isn't at Trixies she enjoys antiquing, camping, shopping at local boutiques, spending time with family and friends, and giving back to the community.
