About the Speaker:
Emily Steele, your coach & Local Business School facilitator, has been a long-time local marketing professional and one of her favorite topics to teach on is local content creators / influencers and how to leverage people-powered marketing to drive the bottom line of a small business.

Emily's business, the Hummingbirds, is a platform that helps small businesses find and work with hyper-local content creators. She has currently raised venture capital dollars to scale the platform to other cities across the country, with the vision of being the future Yelp or Groupon of marketing technology options for small businesses in Des Moines and beyond! Emily is passionate about supporting small businesses in a relevant, empowering, effective way.
 
Local Business School aims to teach attendees the ropes of today’s most effective marketing strategies that they can use to grow their local business in Greater Des Moines (DSM) and throughout Iowa. From building a strong social media strategy to creating a winning website, the program brings in subject matter experts from across the region to give attendees the best tools to leverage in 2022 and beyond. Local Business School was started by Emily Steele, owner of Love Local.
