Local Business School: Building Community into your Marketing with with Melissa Merrifield will explore relationship building and identifying great community partners.

About the Speaker:
Melissa Merrifield has over twenty- five years of hands-on marketing management experience and is a versatile, results-oriented marketing professional, who knows how to manage a company's reputation as an asset. She has designed all aspects of marketing pieces including branding, graphic design, and content, utilizing various forms of media.

Melissa currently serves on the board of AMA of Iowa as the VP of Sponsorships and is working with St. Jude to help launch some big opportunities across the state of Iowa. She has also served on many boards, including gala boards MDA, Big Brother Big Sister, Boys & Girls Club, JDRF, Meals from the Heartland, Food Bank of Iowa, and Hope Ministries.
 
Local Business School aims to teach attendees the ropes of today’s most effective marketing strategies that they can use to grow their local business in Greater Des Moines (DSM) and throughout Iowa. From building a strong social media strategy to creating a winning website, the program brings in subject matter experts from across the region to give attendees the best tools to leverage in 2022 and beyond. Local Business School was started by Emily Steele, owner of Love Local.
