KEY in Des Moines stands for Keeping Educated Youth in Des Moines. It is a program connecting employers with area colleges and universities for workforce attraction. Every other month the group hosts free educational sessions. KEY in Des Moines is a division of the Urbandale Chamber of Commerce.

Bios:
Thomas Petersen
Thomas Petersen joined Pillar Technology in March 2018 as a Talent Engagement Specialist. Thomas was raised on a family farm graduated from a small high school. He attended Ellsworth Community College, and then GrandView College. While attending GrandView Thomas worked at KPWB a new TV Station in Des Moines in 2000-2003.
He transitioned careers and worked for the State of Iowa for 9 years. While speaking with a friend who had started a recruiting firm Thomas and his family moved to Dallas Texas where he recruited and managed healthcare accounts for McCall & Lee. Returning to Iowa to be near family Thomas was recruited to Textura a SaaS based software company in WDM as the Corporate Recruiter in 2012. Oracle acquired Textura in 2016 and Thomas joined a WDM based Staffing and Recruiting company Professional Project Partners as a Recruiter and Account Manager.
The opportunity to be a part of a rapidly growing Software Company is exciting and the opportunities to see a business evolve from the inside, work with amazing talent and Think Big every day is why Thomas jumped at the opportunity to be a part of Pillar.
Thomas has a wife and three kids ages 15, 12 and 8 lives in Bondurant, Iowa and enjoys, running, biking, and spending weekends at the lake.
Pam Gibbons:
Pam Gibbons joined Pillar Technology in September 2014 as a Talent Engagement Specialist. Pam was raised in Clarion, IA. She graduated from The University of Iowa with a degree in Elementary Education.
Pam was excited to come to Pillar and be part of helping them grow their workforce in Iowa. Before Pillar, Pam taught elementary school for 12 years and then transitioned careers when her daughter was born. She took a job where she could work from home recruiting people for medical sales positions. She then took a position with a different company and placed accounting and financial professionals. She spent 4 years in corporate recruiting as well as doing HR Generalist work.
Moving to Pillar Technology has been the best career move Pam has made. She loves working for a company who truly cares about their people and where her ideas are heard and valued. She loves working at a place where she continues to learn and grow.
Pam has a husband and two kids ages 21 and 11 and lives in Grimes, Iowa. She loves watching football, playing golf and attending her kid's activities.
