Iowa Legislative Slow-Pitch Softball Game Hosted by the Greater Des Moines Partnership
Iowa Republican legislators and Iowa Democratic legislators will face off in the 5th Annual Iowa Legislative Slow-Pitch Softball Game, beginning after the conclusion of the 1 p.m. Iowa Cubs game. Hosted by the Greater Des Moines Partnership, in partnership with the Dentons Davis Brown Law Firm, the event proceeds will benefit the Blue Star Mothers of Iowa and the Aiming for a Cure Foundation.
The Blue Star Mothers of Iowa is a non-profit, 501C3 organization devoted to supporting our military forces, our Veterans, and their families. In addition to monthly meetings at Camp Dodge and via Zoom, some of the annual projects include: Care packages for overseas Iowa troops, Valentines for Vets, Wreaths Across America, Veterans Day and Iowa State Fair Parades.
The mission of the Aiming for a Cure Foundation is to support children and families who are dealing with difficult times and decisions in our local communities. The goal is to improve the quality of life of these children and families who are affected by cancer, through the funding of research, covering non-insured expenses, and improving patient care.
