Event Description:
Supplier diversity initiatives by committed corporations and government can spark small business growth, regional innovation, and collaboration propelling inclusive growth in DSM USA. Learn how and why the State of Iowa's Targeted Small Business program is used and available for your company to begin implementing immediately to achieve your supplier diversity goals. This session will also include intention of the program, the state’s supplier diversity initiative, utilizing the database and best practices for starting a Supplier Diversity program.

As the Team Lead for the Innovation and Workforce team, Jill serves as IEDA's liaison to the Iowa Innovation Council, a thinktank of Iowa leaders that recommend public policy and strategies to support innovation initiatives in the Bioscience, IT and Advanced Manufacturing industry sectors. IEDA’s Innovation and Workforce team also connects entrepreneurs with Innovation funding and business owners with resources, educational materials, workforce training programs, apprenticeship programming and internships. Through the Targeted Small Business program, IEDA certifies businesses that are 51% or more owned by women, minorities, individuals with disabilities and service-disabled veterans and helps them leverage their certification for greater business opportunities. Jill holds a Bachelor’s degree in Journalism from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and a Master’s Degree in Public Administration from the University of Colorado-Denver.
