Informational Session | Travel to Portugal March 2026

The Urbandale Chamber of Commerce is traveling to Portugal in 2026, departing March 15th and you are invited to join us!

Portugal is a southern European country on the Iberian Peninsula, bordering Spain. Its location on the Atlantic Ocean has influenced many aspects of its culture: salt cod and grilled sardines are national dishes, the Algarve's beaches are a major destination and much of the nation’s architecture dates to the 1500s–1800s, when Portugal had a powerful maritime empire.

Trip highlights include Lisbon your choice of a walking tour of "Calcadas" or "The Way of the Cod" tour, Belem, Cork Factory, Evora, Alentejo, Lagos, Algarve, Portimao, Setuba, Portuguese Riviera, Obidos, Sintra, Choice of tour: National Palace of Sintra or Walking Tour of UNESCO World Heritage Sites. 

This 10-day tour includes flight departing from Des Moines, Iowa, motorcoach transportation, hotels, 13 meals (8-breakfasts, 2-lunches and 3-dinners along with a variety of experiences listed above.

This trip does offer an optional 5-day, 4-night extension to Madeira Island!
