Time:
8:00 AM - 9:30 AM CDT
Event Description:
The IMPACT Breakfast is designed to inspire and inform. Stories that have IMPACTED our community, our world, or our business. Join us as we spend the morning learning from each other and our special guest speakers.
The Iowa Army of Pink is a 501c3 non-profit organization whose mission is to educate women and health providers on breast density. They are an all-volunteer organization and have all been touched by a delayed diagnosis of breast cancer due to breast density. Their founder, Bridget Pargulski, began lobbying the Iowa legislature in 2012 for notification of breast density to be included in the lay letter for mammogram patients.
In 2017, working with the Iowa Medical Society, a bill was passed and signed into law by Governor Branstad. The Iowa Army of Pink then adjusted and re-organized as an educational organization to ensure that the women of our state understand the new information provided to them by this law.
Our Speakers:
Dr. Jean Paul, DO is a family medicine doctor with MercyOne Clinics in Ankeny. She addresses breast density from both a professional and personal perspective. She was diagnosed with invasive ductal breast cancer in Fall of 2017.
Brigid Greening is a wife and mother of four adult children. She is a substitute teacher at Dowling Catholic High School. She was diagnosed with invasive ductal breast cancer in September 2016.
Thank you to our sponsors!
