How Handbooks Save Time and Solve Problems

This month's Marion County Employers' Council of Iowa topic: How Employee Handbooks Save Time and Solve Problems focuses on how the importance of a good employee handbook. 

This is an interactive session that will address the rapidly changing employment laws and regulations that create uncertainty. The solution to uncertainty is risk mitigation. A well drafted employee handbook is one of the most basic and critical tools to mitigate risk for employers.
 Why have an employee handbook?
 What should be included, excluded and who should draft it?
 Using your handbook, balancing consistent enforcement with flexibility.

This event is open to any employee or business owner in Marion County.  This includes professionals who may have human resources as their primary job duty and those who may only work with HR on a very limited basis.  ECI meetings are held bi-monthly and provide an opportunity to network with individuals from around Marion County who work in/with HR, and learn about current HR issues that affect every business.  Buffet lunch is available and at your own expense.
