Event Description:
The Greater Des Moines Partnership and Affiliate Chambers and partner organizations invite you to the annual Opening Night Legislative Reception, welcoming the 87th Iowa General Assembly to the 2018 Legislative Session. Meet Iowa Legislators, sample hors d'oeuvres from restaurants and vendors from the Regional Affiliate communities and enjoy the newly renovated Tea Room in Downtown DSM USA. The event is hosted in partnership with Young Professionals Connection, Greater Des Moines Leadership Institute and Capital Crossroads.

The entrance is located on 8th Street, between Walnut and Locust Streets. Take the elevator to the sixth floor. 

Parking Options (see a map here): 

  • Metered street parking is available and is free after 6 p.m.
  • The parking ramp located at 8th and Locust Streets takes credit and debit cards only. 
  • After 5 p.m. the parking garages on 8th and Mulberry Streets are free to the public.
