Event Description:
We are now taking reservations for an additional meeting we will be offering outside of our normal meeting schedule. This meeting will be held on June 20. This will be a unique event and all are welcome.
The U.S. Department of State maintains the International Visitor Leadership Program, which exposes participants to a range of policy views in the public and private sectors. One such group is visiting Des Moines in June. This visit is being coordinated by The Iowa International Center, who reached out to the Greater Des Moines Committee on Foreign Relations to see if we were intersted in hosting this group: from Bulgaria, Estonia, Germany, Sweden, Turkey, and the United Kingdom. Most in this group are editors or journalists. They are not experts on U.S. foreign policy, but we expect them to be knowledgeable and able to share the views of the people in their countries. We have not hosted a group like this in recent years, so we are not entirely sure what to expect. Nevertheless, we anticipate a very interesting discussion, one in which panel members may solicit your views on various issues.
Our meeting will be at Wakonda Club, 3155 Fleur Drive.
Appetizers and drinks will begin at 5:30pm.
The speakers will be introduced at 6:15pm.
Cost is $25,00
Participant Bios and further information on this group are included on our website: www.gdmcfr.org
For additional information or to reserve your spot, contact Nancy Lynch at nkclynch@gmail.com or go to GDMCFR.org.
