The Des Moines Committee on Foreign Relations is delighted to announce the third in our 2017-2018 series of speakers on Wednesday, November 15th - with Philip C. French, Chairperson of the ICASS working group for the State Department. Mr. French is the former Executive Director of the American Committees on Foreign Relations, and is a skilled political analyst, writer, and speaker. The meeting will be held at the Wakonda Club, with a speaker's reception from 5:30 p.m. - 6:15 p.m. Mr. French will speak at 6:15 p.m., and a question and answer session will be held immediately after.

Established as a program of the Council on Foreign Relations in 1938, American Committees on Foreign Relations (AFCR) became its own association in 1995 and established headquarters in Washington, D.C. Comprised of more than 30 local affiliates around the country, AFCR promotes dialogue between civic leaders and policy makers and other foreign relations experts through lecture-discussions and other civic forums.
