The Des Moines Committee on Foreign Relations is delighted to announce the 2017-2018 speaker series. The next speaker is Daniel Pearson, Senior Fellow of Trade Policy Studies at Cato Institute. Pearson will speak on Thursday, October 19 at 6:15pm, and a question and answer session will be held immediately after. The meeting will be held at the Wakonda Club, with a speaker’s reception from 5:30pm-6:15pm.

DMCFR holds monthly meetings featuring a speaker on topics of various aspects of foreign policy and international issues. Our meetings are held at Wakonda Country Club in Des Moines, Iowa.
Established as a program of the Council on Foreign Relations in 1938, American Committees on Foreign Relations (AFCR) became its own association in 1995 and established headquarters in Washington, D.C. Comprised of more than 30 local affiliates around the country, AFCR promotes dialogue between civic leaders and policy makers and other foreign relations experts through lecture-discussions and other civic forums.
