Event Description:
The Des Moines Committee on Foreign Relations is pleased to announce the third evening in our 2018 – 2019 Speakers Series on Wednesday, Nov. 28 with our special guest Blaise Misztal, Director of National Security at the Bipartisan Policy Center (BPC). During his tenure at BPC, Mr. Misztal has researched a variety of national security issues, including Iran and its nuclear program, Turkey, cybersecurity, stabilizing fragile states and public diplomacy in the 21st century. He has testified before Congress and has published op-eds in numerous publications, including the Washington Post and the Wall Street Journal. The focus of his presentation will be Iran and Turkey.
The meeting will be held at the Wakonda Club, with a meet-and-greet speaker's reception from 5:30 – 6:15 p.m., during which time heavy hors d’oeuvres will be served. Mr. Misztal will begin his presentation at 6:15 p.m. and a question and answer session will be held immediately after. Tickets are $25 for Members and guests with special student discounts available.
