Event Description:
LifeServe is in need of immediate donations to boost the blood supply. Can you take an hour to help provide the blood that's currently needed in local hospitals? The Urbandale Chamber genYP group is sponsoring a mobile blood drive with LifeServe to assist with the immediate need for blood to support our local hospitals. Sign-up for an appointment.
ARE YOU READY TO ROLL UP A SLEEVE?
During a normal year, summer is an extremely high need time for LifeServe. Some of our medical partners have referred to warmer months as “trauma season” due to the high volume of injuries they treat. Whether it’s due to outdoor activities, projects around the home, falls, or automobile accidents, these emergencies often require transfusions.
We don’t need to tell you this year has been different and it’s hard to predict what’s in store! What we do know: not only is trauma season coming, but another strain on the blood supply is, too. Hospitals in Iowa are beginning to perform elective surgeries once more. Blood transfusions are a routine part of many procedures.
To boost the blood supply in anticipation of these needs, please donate blood at our upcoming blood drive!
Safety is our top priority for our team members, blood donors, and the safety of the blood supply. LifeServe is enforcing the following precautionary measures:

- Appointments are required. Donors who do not have appointments will not be able to give blood.
- We are asking that blood donors pre-screen themselves for fever prior to appointments. Only donors with temperatures under 99.5 will be allowed to donate. If your temperature is higher than 99.5, please reschedule here or by calling us at 800.287.4903.
- Blood donors are required to wear a mask for the duration of their appointment. If you do not have a mask, we will provide you one.
