You are invited to celebrate the release of Jason Kiesau's new book FOCUSED - Your Future Starts Now! Jason is the Director of Recruiting & Employer Services for Merit Resources. Merit Resources is a Platinum Investor in the Urbandale Chamber of Commerce.
THE EVENT
When: Monday, December 14th from 4:30 - 6:30PM
Where: Life Time Athletic, Urbandale
What: Book signing, networking, hors d'voeuvres provided by Merit Resources and drinks.
Hors d'oeuvres provided by Merit Resources, Inc. and prepared by the Life Time Life Cafe:
- Brisket
- Pancetta Crisp with Pear
- Seared Tuna
- Shrimp bites
- Bruschetta
- Hummus and Vegetables
- Mediterranean Vegetable Bites
Tea and water will be provided with beer available for $3 and wine for $5
THE BOOK
Writing a book has been on the "to do list" for a number of years. Five years ago I took a day off work to do nothing but write. When 4PM hit, I had three chapters done and felt like I wanted to puke. I closed the document and didn't look at it again for almost a year.
In June of 2014 the stars must have aligned. I was on a flight from Minneapolis to Las Vegas listening to an audio book about "owning your story." Something I heard connected and I turned off the book, opened my laptop, and had chapter one done by the time the plane landed.
Within a month or two I got connected with BookPress Publishing and spent the next year going back and forth through the edit and design process until we were ready for print. It was a challenging, but awesome learning experience and I am thrilled with the finished product.
