Event Description:
The Greater Des Moines Partnership is excited to team up with the Iowa Women's Business Center to bring you First Fridays! The goal of First Fridays is for the aspiring entrepreneurs and the people of Greater Des Moines (DSM) to hear from business owners and entrepreneurs who have helped shape the communities in which we live. The speakers are makers, store owners, movers and shakers, creators of regional or national brands, and all have stories that are uniquely their own.
Come hear from Dwana Bradley of Iowa Urban Media! Bradley holds a Bachelor’s degree in Child and Family Services from Iowa State University and a Master’s degree in Elementary Education and Literacy from Drake University as well as a Specialist’s degree in Administration.
She spent nearly seven years as a reading interventionist with Des Moines Public Schools. She is currently Executive Director of Iowa Juneteenth, a teacher in the after-school program at Homes of Oakridge as well as owner of Iowa Urban Media, a community-focused publishing company. Bradley has also been active in the community, such as volunteering on the DMPS attendance committee, serving as choir director at True Bible Baptist Church and graduating from the Greater Des Moines Leadership Institute. She has two children and recently was sworn into the Board of Directors for Des Moines Public Schools representing District 3.
