The DSM Intern Connection event series returns to Greater Des Moines (DSM). The series will feature opportunities for interns and college-aged students to connect with community leaders and executives, as well as opportunities to network with fellow students while learning about what makes DSM unique and truly the place to be.
Jann Freed, PhD, is a leadership development consultant, author and speaker who helps individuals and organizations develop strong leaders and find greater meaning in their work and lives. She is professor emerita of business management at Central College, where she served for 30 years, including as the Mark and Kay De Cook Endowed Chair in Leadership and Character Development.
Jann is the author of several books on leadership and personal growth, including Leading with Wisdom and Breadcrumb Legacy: How Great Leaders Live a Life Worth Remembering. She writes the “Leading Edge” column for Training Magazine and contributes to Forbes.com on leadership and retirement.
She is also the host of the Becoming a Sage podcast and a TEDx speaker. Jann is active in community leadership across Greater Des Moines and was named a 2024 Women of Influence by the Business Record.
