Event Description:
Head to Lake Red Rock's South Overlook Park for cyclocross races, a unique discipline of bicycle racing that requires riders to traverse a short course featuring a variety of terrain including pavement, grass, steep hills and obstacles. In some instances racers will have to dismount and run a short distance with their bicycles. Races last between 30 minutes and an hour depending on the category and age level of racers, and historically has over 100 racers. Races will begin at 10 am with the masters category racers and conclude at 2:30 pm with junior racers on both Saturday and Sunday. The race will feature many local racers, most notably junior racer Tyler Reynolds of Pella, a recently crowned state champion in the criterium discipline.
