Presented by: Central Iowa Apprenticeship Coordinating Committee
When: Thursday, Apr. 13 -OR- Friday, Apr. 14 from 8:30 - 11:30 a.m.
Where: Iron Workers Training Center | 2221 Ovid Avenue East | Des Moines, IA
Imagine your students getting to experience wiring a circuit, bending sheet metal or building a foundation wall; all skills that are performed everyday on job sites by professional tradespersons who were paid to learn their craft.
From conceptual design to building completion, we want to help students, teachers, career counselors, administrators and parents explore the many rewarding career opportunities in the construction industry that are literally building our community. Each session will allow students to rotate through 10-12 stations with hands-on demonstrations of work typically done on a construction site. During the sessions students will have an opportunity to ask questions about careers in the trades and learn how they can begin today through curriculum choices to prepare for these great careers.
