Time: 5:00 PM - 6:30 PM CDT
Event Description:

On Sept. 14th, 2017, the chamber will host the annual Celebration of Progress which showcases new and upcoming commercial developments on the East Side. This year's host is Kemin Industries who is showing off their brand new world headquarters at 1900 Scott ave.

5:00 - 6:00pm: Registration/Networking/Tours
6:00pm: Program/Award/Scholarship Presentation

Located in the emerging development area of the southeast corridor near downtown, the 94,000 square-foot building houses work spaces, laboratories, collaboration areas and a fitness center. The new building is the final extension of the state-of-the-art Molecular Advancement Center Research Facility, which opened in July 2013. The new building, a $30 million investment, completes the five-year, $125.5 million overall investment in the Kemin Des Moines facilities.

Kemin will provide tours and a reception for networking during the event that goes from 5-6:30pm. Registration is available on the chambers website and donations are encouraged to attend.

During the short program, the chamber will also award the Educator of the Year. Jennifer Eppert with Central Campus, and raise funds for the annual scholarships given to students from East High School, Lincoln High School, Grand View University, Grand View Christian School and Des Moines Area Community College, $5,000 total.

We look to our Chamber businesses to support this event to kickoff fundraising for the next round of scholarships.  If you have questions or are interested in providing a donation, click here.
