Here’s why this event is shaping up to be our most exciting and impactful yet.

  1. Bigger Venue, Bigger Impact - Due to incredible growth, we’re moving to the West Des Moines Sheraton, where we are predicted to host over 500 attendees. This new venue ensures plenty of room for networking, learning, and celebrating the achievements of business owners.

  2. Choose Your Own Adventure: Entrepreneurial Excursions powered by ChaseKick off the summit on April 16th with a special "Choose Your Own Adventure" bus tour, visiting successful businesses in the region. Hear firsthand about their “secret sauce” to success and enjoy a “taste of success” with dinner at a locally-owned restaurant, learning what it takes to thrive in the food industry.

Bella Love Event Venue: Join us for the Entrepreneurial Excursion, Sponsored by Chase at Bella Love Event Venue! Founded by Krystal Marshall, a minority business owner, Bella Love is a vibrant space built to inspire and bring people together. Enjoy a delicious lunch from Tasty Tacos, a beloved Des Moines favorite since 1961, known for their original flour tacos and rich family traditions. This event also features the JEFAS Panel, a dynamic conversation with Latina leaders making an impact in our community: Kathy Guillen with the Latina Leadership Initiative, Fabi Plascencia with Dulce Vida Desserts, Erika Macias with Hola Iowa, Miriam De Dios with De Dios Consulting, Krystal Marshall with Bella Love, and Blanca Plascencia with El Fogon. Don’t miss this opportunity to connect, learn, and celebrate local entrepreneurship.

Mainframe Studios: Experience one of the nation’s largest nonprofit creative workspaces with a guided tour of Mainframe Studios during our Entrepreneurial Excursion, Sponsored by Chase. Located in downtown Des Moines, Mainframe is home to over 130 artists and makers across a wide range of mediums. You'll hear directly from a diverse group of creatives and learn how Mainframe supports entrepreneurial careers in the arts through affordable workspaces, programming, and community partnerships. Lunch will be provided by Fresh Mediterranean Express, locally owned and operated by husband and wife duo Hassan Atarmal and Jeni Betts, known for their flavorful, made-from-scratch dishes. Don’t miss this behind-the-scenes look at a thriving hub for creativity and innovation.

Lola's Fine Hot Sauce: Go behind the scenes at Lola’s Fine Hot Sauce, one of Iowa’s most successful minority-owned food brands, during our next Entrepreneurial Excursion Sponsored by Chase. What started as a family recipe made by Lola herself has grown into a nationally distributed product found in major retailers across the country. You'll hear the inspiring story of how this family-run business scaled from a local kitchen to a household name, all while staying true to their roots. Enjoy lunch from Karam’s Grill, a locally owned spot known for authentic Mediterranean dishes made from fresh ingredients and traditional recipes passed down through generations. This is your chance to connect with passionate entrepreneurs and learn what it takes to turn bold ideas into lasting success.
