2026 DSM Civic Leadership Program
Greater Des Moines Civic Leadership Program
Strong communities depend on leaders who understand the issues impacting their region, can navigate differing perspectives with civility, and know how to turn ideas into meaningful action.
The Greater Des Moines Partnership’s Civic Leadership Program is designed to equip newly elected officials, individuals considering public office or public service, and emerging civic leaders with knowledge, connections, and practical skills to serve their communities well.
Through expert facilitation, insights from regional leaders, and interactive learning, participants will explore:
- Leading with civility: strengthen your ability to build trust, navigate differing perspectives, and engage in collaboration that moves communities forward.
- Understanding economic development: learn how local decisions influence business growth, support workforce development, and strengthen our region.
- Gaining regional perspective: hear directly from leaders about building relationships, navigating challenges, and working together to advance regional goals.
Whether you’re beginning to explore public service or already serving in your community, the Greater Des Moines Partnership’s Civic Leadership Program will help you build the perspective, relationships, and skills to lead with impact.
