Event Description:
The Greater Des Moines Partnership is excited to host the first annual Future World of Work Summit, Monday, October 24, at the FFA Enrichment Center in Ankeny, IA. The purpose of the Future World of Work Summit is to inform, educate and inspire the business community in Greater Des Moines (DSM). This half day event will highlight ways that employers can adapt and thrive in the work and learning ecosystems of tomorrow. The summit will take place from Noon – 5:30 p.m.

The Summit is sponsored by Iowa Workforce Development, the Jacobson Institute at Grand View University, MercyOne and Des Moines Area Community College (DMACC).
Additionally, if you are in the education field, we encourage you to attend a breakfast event on the morning of Oct. 24 featuring Welch and the Tallo team. Secondary educators and administrators, nonprofit and community leaders focused on education, and higher education faculty, staff and administration interested in career and workforce are invited to attend. - An interactive session to gather hyper-local perspectives on innovation
- A panel discussion of local industry leaders moderated by Beth Townsend, Director of Workforce Development
- Conversations with nationally recognized thought leaders and futurists led by Dr. Lynn Burks, Executive Director of the Jacobson Institute at Grand View University
Keynotes speakers include:
- Kermit Kaleba, Strategy Director for Employer Aligned Programs at Lumina Foundation. The presentation will focus on giving employers a roadmap for the large-scale, radical changes people must make to find meaningful work in the 21st century.
- Casey Welch, Co-founder, President & CEO at Tallo. Welch will present on Generation Z and the Emerging Workforce, including an Iowa-specific report on attracting Gen Z to your workforce.
