Event Description:
FuseDSM's Annual Award Dinner is dedicated to celebrating our chamber members and recognizing their amazing accomplishments in the business community. Our keynote speaker is one of those individuals accomplishing amazing things. His story will leave you in awe.
KEYNOTE SPEAKER:
WILL KEEPS
"It's not what you've been through, it's how you get through."
Will is the founder of the non-profit, Starts Right Here. He is actively working in his community as a mentor, activist, motivational speaker, and using his voice to write and produce songs as a way to reach out to children. His passion is working with children to create unity and an understanding of "we need each other for us to move together." With his passion, he is a mentor with "The Porch" program where he teaches life skills and is getting children ready for adulthood. He is a mentor at 5 Des Moines Public Schools; Harding Middle School, King Elementary, Monroe Elementary, Scavo High School, and McCombs Middle School. At Scavo High School, WIll is involved in "X Class" where he is teaching music to the kids.
