South Side Police Appreciation Day

  • Share:
Name: South Side Police Appreciation Day
Date: December 2, 2016
Event Description:

Please join South Park Neighborhood and our south side neighbors on

Friday December 2nd - for an

APPRECIATION FOOD DAY PARTY at the

Des Moines Police Station

WHO: South side neighbors and businesses showing our appreciation by sponsoring a food day at the Police Station.

WHAT: 2 meal times -- Breakfast (6AM to 9AM) & Lunch/Dinner (12:30 to 3PM) will be served for all shifts – served by south side neighbors. Sponsored by south side businesses.

WHEN:  Friday December 2nd. We reached out to the DMPD in July searching for a significant opportunity to show our sincere appreciation. We learned that due to gift restrictions – they cannot accept a gift worth more than $1.89.

However, they can eat…….. so let’s throw a party.

WHERE: The chief’s office suggested that we serve the food in the roll call room at the downtown station.

WHY?  Because we have the best Police Chief, staff and officers!  They have endured the grief and loss of burying 3 of their own and the on-going nationwide assault on police. And because we want to express our sincere appreciation in a meaningful way.

HOW:  Help us to provide food, drinks and tableware for the 500 officers and staff.
