The Greater Des Moines partnership is excited to team up with the Iowa Women's Business Center to bring you First Fridays! The goal of First Fridays is for the aspiring entrepreneurs and the people of Des Moines to hear from business owners and entrepreneurs who have helped shape the communities in which we live. The speakers are makers, store owners, movers and shakers, creators of regional or national brands, and all have stories that are uniquely their own.
Teresa Adams-Tomka, owner of Kitchen Collage in Des Moines’ East Village, knows how to create a welcoming environment – whether customers are there to stroll her shop, or engage in one of the many cooking classes offered. Teresa started her business in 1999 in Urbandale, Iowa hoping to share her passion for all things cooking and food with the rest of the world. Since then, Teresa has moved her business to our city’s East Village and enjoys helping all who enter her store – be this foot traffic from those shopping the neighborhood to those traveling to her with a specific need in mind.
