Event Description:
The Greater Des Moines partnership is excited to team up with the Iowa Women's Business Center to bring you First Fridays!  The goal of First Fridays is for the aspiring entrepreneurs and the people of Des Moines to hear from business owners and entrepreneurs who have helped shape the communities in which we live. The speakers are makers, store owners, movers and shakers, creators of regional or national brands, and all have stories that are uniquely their own.

For over 20 years Mary Anne Kennedy has owned and operated Primary Source, a promotional product business she purchased from the retiring owner back in 1997. Primary Source works to build brands by displaying company logos and other information on a variety of gifts and promotional products – from pens and mugs to padfolios and power banks! Mary Anne understands the value of building these long-term promotional gifts for the companies and individuals she serves and has leveraged that understanding to build her business to what it is today.
Along with her business, Mary Anne is very active in the business community. She is currently a member of NAWBO (and was recognized as the Iowa chapter’s 2016 Women Business Owner of the Year!), serves as an ambassador for the WDM & Clive Chambers of Commerce (where she was also a past President), is a founding member of WOW and so much more.  Mary Anne also mentor’s women starting their own business and facilitates “Networking 101” mini-seminars for groups learning to make networking comfortable & beneficial. Don’t miss this opportunity to learn more about Mary Anne and her personal journey as a women business owner!
