The Greater Des Moines Partnership is excited to team up with the Iowa Women's Business Center to bring you First Fridays! The goal of First Fridays is for the aspiring entrepreneurs and the people of Greater Des Moines (DSM) to hear from business owners and entrepreneurs who have helped shape the communities in which we live. The speakers are makers, store owners, movers and shakers, creators of regional or national brands and all have stories that are uniquely their own.
After graduating from Iowa State University, Dr. Penny Hanson started working in a successful chiropractic practice as a receptionist. Through attendance and ongoing engagement at local seminars, Penny continued to learn about chiropractic services and how practical these services are to life and work. As her knowledge and responsibility grew in her current place of employment, the amazing doctors she worked with encouraged her to pursue this profession as her own. To formalize her efforts in this field by becoming a licensed chiropractor.
After much exploration, Penny enrolled in the Palmer College of Chiropractic (PCC) in Davenport, Iowa. Just five weeks after graduating from PCC in the fall of 2015, she started seeing her first patients at Two Lane Chiropractic in the Historic East Village of Des Moines, IA. Two Lane Chiropractic is owned and operated by Dr. Penny Hanson and built on patient-oriented care at an affordable price. Her mission is to educate and create an environment of well-being to the Des Moines communities through the nervous system by removing nerve interference. Penny does this via the use of Gonstead Methodology- the technique that works for her as both a patient and a practitioner.
Penny lives in Des Moines with her partner, Chris, who keeps her laughing and smiling daily. Come hear Penny’s story and her “why” behind advancing her business in this space.
