Event Description:

The Greater Des Moines Partnership’s Inclusion Council is looking to engage leaders involved in policy development and hiring decisions to join us for an important meeting on 9/28 from 8:00-10:00 a.m. in the Partnership’s Conference center located at 700 Locust St, Suite 100 in downtown Des Moines.

The purpose of this meeting is to provide information, engage in a dialogue, and gather critical input regarding an identified issue within our community related to the gap in employment rates for African Americans. The meeting will feature interactive presentations from guest speakers: Corey Harris, Director of Middle Schools for Des Moines Public Schools, and Glennda Bivens, Community Development Specialist at Iowa State University.

At this meeting, input gathered will be leveraged to help the Inclusion Council in forming solid recommendations for the business community, which will be delivered at the 4th Annual Executive Forum on Diversity & Inclusion on November 4th (More details to come).
