SUMMARY:Urbandale Police Station Referendum Educational Session
DESCRIPTION:Join the Urbandale Chamber of Commerce as we invite in the The City of Urbandale to provide information about the proposed new police station and the bond referendum that would appear on the November 3 ballot.\n\n\n\nThe background:\n\n\n\nOriginally built in 1982 to serve a community of approximately 18\,000 residents\, Urbandale's current Police building no longer meets the operational\, safety\, technology\, training\, evidence storage\, and space needs of a city that has grown to nearly 50\,000 residents.\n\n\n\nOn November 3\, Urbandale voters will be asked whether the City shall issue up to $25 million in General Obligation Bonds or Capital Loan Notes to fund the design\, construction\, equipping\, and furnishing of a new Police Station. The proposed facility would support the City's long-term public safety needs while using a building construction financing plan projected to not require an increase in the current property tax debt service levy. \n\n\n\nCome learn more on Wednesday\, September 23rd from 8:30 - 9:30 a.m. at the Urbandale Chamber of Commerce offices.
