Event Description:
Join the Greater Des Moines Partnership and Capital Crossroads for Intersections in Health – a monthly series that encourages attendees to focus on the whole person. Speakers will discuss the mental, physical, and social determinates of health and well-being. Attendees will learn more about what holistic health means and looks like as our communities and region work together to create a culture of health.
 
This series is a collaboration between Capital Crossroad’s Wellness Capital and The Greater Des Moines Partnership.
 
Leaders fostering opportunities for conversation include:
  • Suzanna de Baca, President and Group Publisher at Business Publications Corporation (BPC): on what she has witnessed from BPC’s commitment to Lifting the Veil and the response of the greater community during a pandemic
  • Malai Amfahr, Story County Reads Director at United Way of Story County: on connecting with youth during and after the pandemic and their emotional and social well-being
  • Jami Haberl, Executive Director at Iowa Healthiest State Initiative: on the Make it OK Campaign and our social and emotional well-being
 
Moderator: Sarah Welch, owner at Speak Action: who will also speak on launching the “Sesame Street in Communities Initiative” and its tie-in to well-being.
